Our Services
-
Parent coaching involves one or more caregivers meeting with a professional coach to address the stressors your family is experiencing. Coaches use psycho-education and evidence-based strategies to help navigate familial issues related to children experiencing mental or behavioral health struggles. This form of coaching carries a larger goal of breaking negative cycles in your family relationships, achieved through smaller goals such as improving communication, education on child development to inform parenting strategies, fostering confidence and self-efficacy, and developing solution-focused thinking.
-
Youth coaching is designed to support young individuals (ages 6 - 21) as they navigate adolescence and early adulthood. This service provides personalized support, mentorship, and skill development. Coaches assist youth in identifying their strengths, setting realistic and actionable goals, and building emotional intelligence and coping skills. Youth coaching can be beneficial for academic performance, emotional resilience, reducing stress, positive identity development, and creating a safe space for discussing hard things.

why this matters
Mental health concerns among US youth have been increasing over the last 2 decades, with the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbating reported negative mental health outcomes. National suicide rates among youth ages 10 to 24 increased by 57% (Curtin, 2020) and young people are reporting soaring rates of depression, anxiety, and loneliness, with disproportionate levels being reported by LGBTQ+ youth due to compounding stressors related to their marginalized social identities (Salerno et al., 2020).
These increased rates of negative health outcomes are destabilizing families. Parents are overwhelmed balancing careers with their children's increasing needs. Families are stuck in cycles of recurring crisis with diminishing access to local resources. Protective factors, such as an adolescent’s sense of connectedness to caring adults and a sense of belonging in their communities, should be strengthened to assist in buffering against negative health outcomes (Sieving et al., 2017).
This is where we can help.
Ten of Cups Coaching can help parents navigate these struggles. We are a small team able to adapt to the changing healthcare landscape to help parents feel more in control of their lives. We are previous crisis social workers, therapists, case managers, as well as individuals with our own lived experience available to connect with you to share our knowledge in navigating parenting struggles.
